Classical Tuesdays' 7th Season

October 11th, 2011, kicks off our seventh season of Classical Tuesdays in Old Town!  We'll feature four widely varied free concerts, plus our annual benefit concert.  The line-up is:

October 11 Chinese Concert & Lion Dance

  • In celebration of the new Chinese Reconciliation Park and Pavilion
  • 5:45pm Lion Dance starting at Gateway Park
  • 7pm US China Music Ensemble at Slavonian Hall
November 8 The Manette String Trio performs Beethoven and Mozart
  • Gwendolyn Talyor, violin; Thane Lewis, viola; Stuart Hake, cello
December 13 American Opera Arias: Annual Benefit Concert & Wine Reception
  • Christina Kowalski, soprano; Gino Lucchetti, tenor; Denes Van Parys, piano
  • Held at Connelly Law Offices, Old Town; $25 admission
January 10, 2012 Wired for Sound
  • Tacoma composer Joshua Parmenter and friends
  • Acoustic and electronic music
February 14 Plaisir d'Amour (The Pleasure of Love)
  • Canonici vocal consort
  • Love songs in English, French and Italian

As always, a big Thank You! to the Slavonian-American Benevolent Society for the use of their beautiful hall in Old Town.

Concerts start at 7pm the second Tuesday of each month. All but the benefit concert are at Slavonian Hall, 2306 N 30th St, in Old Town Tacoma. Info: 253-752-2135, http://classicaltuesdays.blogspot.com. And of course, admission is free.
