Tacoma Tapestry 2026: Mariachi Monarcas in Slavonian Hall October 13, 7:00pm

Classical Tuesdays in Old Town Tacoma features a performance of mariachi music!

Mariachi Monarcas
trumpets, violins, vihuela, & guitarron

Mariachi music in concert - performed on violins, trumpets, guitarron, and vihuela - represents the rich history and culture originating in the ranches and small towns of western Mexico, particularly in the state of Jalisco. The music developed from a blend of indigenous, Spanish, and African music traditions. The addition of trumpets (as in the Mariachi Monarcas ensemble) transforms the folk style into a more urban and national sound.

Join us for cookies (baked by Chris Reynolds!) and coffee/tea before the music starts!
